Get Your Animal On The Right Track With Fastrack®

Fastrack®, Conklin’s line of superior animal products, is formulated with only the highest quality ingredients, resulting in high quality animals. Fastrack® is packed with lactic acid-producing bacteria, prebiotics, enzymes and vitamins that are necessary for the digestive and immune systems.

Fastrack®’s direct-fed microbials breakdown feed in the gut into nutrients animals can better absorb. Nutrients crucial to cell growth, bone structure, joints, muscling and regulating body functions. The more nutrients the animal is able to absorb the more money and value you are getting out of your feed.

Conklin researcher Dr. Eugene Stearns developed the first animal probiotic to support the health and performance of food-producing animals. His innovative formula of beneficial bacteria, yeast culture and enzymes helped milk, meat and poultry production and became Conklin’s signature product, Fastrack® Microbial Pack.

Fastrack® has gained industry recognition for continuous formulation improvement, which formed the basis of our comprehensive program of species-specific Fastrack® products covering an animal’s entire life cycle.

How Direct-Fed Microbials work

Direct-Fed Microbials (or DFMs) are microorganisms that share a mutualistic relationship with the host, meaning the host and the organism both benefit from each other. The more variety of DFMs there is in the gut the better, since microorganisms can perform and regenerate differently.

The goal of direct-fed microbials is to attach to the intestinal lining so they can regenerate, break-down feed, and stabilize the pH in the gut. Unfortunately, harmful pathogens and bacteria work the same way. If there are more beneficial microorganisms than harmful, the gut can stay in balance.

When animals are under stress from vaccines, travel, change in feed, or management their immune systems weaken. The pH in the gut lowers and creates a favorable environment for the harmful bacteria. When harmful microorganisms are able to attach to the lining, they can release toxins that enter the bloodstream causing the immune system to weaken and the lining to degrade.

Some signs your animal is under stress are scours, bloating, decreased feed or water intake or constant kicking and rolling. Establishing a population of beneficial bacteria can help the digestive tract get back in balance as well as repair the lining of the intestine.

“We are firm believers that without Fastrack® our Ayrshires would not excel in the normal everyday extremes (hot and cold), in our breeding program, and in the showring.” -Bobby and Renee B. MO

Drug-resistant bacteria have become a major concern in the food-producing industry. Producers are faced with providing quality healthy meat or milk without the use of drugs or antibiotics, while sick animals become weak and lower production. One way the industry ensures the health of the animals is with the use of direct-fed microbials. DFMs in the gut of the animal break-down feed into nutrients better absorbed by the body as well as aid in the animal’s immunity.

Fastrack offers a variety of products to help boost your herd’s immunity and improve feed efficiency. Made with only the highest quality controlled direct-fed microbes, Fastrack has a program for every life stage.

“In our father/son hog operation, we use Fastrack® as a supplement to our nutritional program. We see excellent body condition and milk supply in our sows. With our pigs, we see good size and the ability to wean early, if we want. Our pigs eat feed well and are easy to sell or great to keep in our program.”-Max M., IN
